It includes schools, food pantries, grocery stores, local businesses, restaurants, energy assistance, government offices, churches, and so much more. They are updating it at least once a day. City of Monticello offices and buildings will be closed until further notice.  City business will still be conducted with minimal to no personal contact. 

  •  Utility bills may be paid in our drop box &/or online.  

  • All meeting have been canceled until further notice.

  • Offices are still staffed and city employees are happy to answer your questions or concerns by phone.

Monon Town Offices are CLOSED until further notice.

White County Government Officials, together with Local Government Officials have determined, for the protection of our citizens, no Peddlers Permits will be issued in White County, nor will any previously issued permits be honored, until further notice.  Peddlers Permits are issued to companies that send their employees out door-to-door in residential neighborhoods to see a product or a service.  This activity is halted throughout White County until such time that Officials determine it to be safe to resume.  If you suspect peddler activity in your neighborhood, please contact your local law enforcement.

“The White Circuit Court, White Superior Court, and White County Clerk’s offices will remain open during normal business hours; however, the courts have suspended all civil proceedings except those that are emergencies or urgent in nature through April 3, 2020.

The Courts will also suspend and continue all criminal and juvenile proceedings except emergency motions and petitions, protection orders, bond hearings, initial hearings, emergency hearings, and any other criminal proceeding deemed urgent by the Courts through April 3, 2020.

People appearing at the Court Security Officer station at the North entrance on the first floor, will be questioned as to what business matter is needed, and after consultation with court and or clerk staff, the security officer will advise whether the matter requires immediate court or clerk attention.”

Advanced Disposal - Starting Monday, March 23rd will be implementing some changes to the residential trash serviced due to the public health emergency caused by the coronavirus outbreak.  All trash should be bagged and placed in an Advanced Disposal cart as we will no longer be servicing any items outside of the containers, we are limiting exposure to our employees during this time.   
American Legion Post #81 in CLOSED through the end of April
The Monticello-Union Township Public Library will be closed to the public.   Access to the library’s online services, such as INSPIRE and the Digital Collections, will continue to be available without interruption. Please check back for updates on this situation as it develops.
